Lindsey Averkamp- Boehnlein has spent her life immersed in movement and performance, beginning her dance training at just three years old in Dallas, Texas. She discovered her love for the stage early, stepping into her first competition at age six and quickly accelerating into an intensive training track. Lindsey studied Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Contemporary more than 25 hours per week, earning numerous special judges’ awards, Top 10 placements, and multiple regional and national championship titles. During this time, she also worked as a child actress with the Dallas Theater Center and appeared on a children’s television program.
Alongside her dance career, Lindsey was trained in voice and tumbling, which contributed to her powerful stage presence.
Lindsey’s love for performing extended beyond the studio. She spent several years as a Junior Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, performing in high‑energy halftime shows with artists such as Jessica Simpson, Billy Gilman, Clint Black, Creed, and more. Her cheerleading journey continued through high school, where she became a four‑year varsity cheerleader, NCA All‑Star, and competitor at NCA Nationals. Lindsey’s leadership and technical skill earned her the role of Captain, where she choreographed routines, trained teammates, and helped lead her squad through championship‑level performances and received a college leadership scholarship.
After high school, Lindsey attended the University of North Texas, studying Biology Pre‑Med while receiving a secondary scholarship as a North Texas Dancer. Her path shifted when she was invited to train professionally in ballroom dance—a decision that launched a decade-long career with Arthur Murray International. She became a nationally recognized Top Teacher, ranked 8th internationally, and earned 3rd Place Top Teacher at the World Dance-O-Rama. As Dance Director and Manager of Arthur Murray, Plano, Texas. Lindsey trained instructors, guided studio standards, and continued competing professionally in Rhythm, Smooth, and show-dance divisions. She has appeared on Good Morning Texas, performed for the Dallas Mavericks and had the opportunity to coach DWTS champion Emmitt Smith.
Locally, Lindsey brings her lifetime of dance and professional performance experience to her students. Inspiring dancers of all ages with her passion, discipline, and love for the art of movement. Additionally, she has participated in numerous theatrical productions at Theater North and directs the Community Christmas Show at the HIT. She was a morning DJ/co-host for 4 years at WUPM. Now she is the Administrative Manager for the prestigious Historic Ironwood Theatre, spends her free time having fun with her two adopted sons, and husband Isaac.
